Legends, Statements & Stars Reflect On 30 Years Of The Latex Ball

It’s been 30 years since the Gay Men’s Health Crisis created the annual Latex Ball in 1990 in response to the HIV and AIDS epidemic.

The Latex Ball has become one of the most popular events in New York City, while its impact is known worldwide, even outside of the culture. This summer, as the ballroom community practiced social distancing due to Covid-19as the ballroom community practiced social distancing due to Covid-19, we celebrated this occasion with GET YOUR TENZ @ LATEX; an interactive social media vogue competition series.

In addition, we asked Ballroom Legends, Statements & Stars to reflect on the 30-year legacy of the Latex Ball while sharing some of their favorite memories.
