The Hottest On The Gram

Name one LGBT figure that’s doing great things but not getting enough attention?
I would say Janet Mock. She’s been highlighted to an extent but when you think about the uproar that trans rights have caused recently, you would think more outlets would have reached out to her as opposed to a Caitlyn Jenner. Her book “Redefining Realness”, is an amazing read.

Who is your favorite person you follow on Instagram?
That’s a tough one! I really enjoy watching @itsisabelbedoya. I don’t do makeup but she’s so good at it, it’s hypnotizing. She’s gorgeous, her videos are amazing quality and the song choices are always good. I also love looking at @jeffloagz because… well, have you seen him?! Honorable mention to @pats.zone who always link the Pats games when I’m at work and need to stream the game.

What’s the difference between “carrying” and “being extra”?
You say someone is “carrying” when you’re waiting for them and they’re taking their sweet time doing something else. Usually something like gossiping, or being a ho. Being “extra” is when someone is just doing too much! They’re all over the place, dipping and screaming or something stupid along those lines.

Arrive early to party or the middle of the party?
The middle of course. You want to be the fresh selection to the party, not the one who’s been there the whole time. I love walking in when the party is already crowded, do a lap around and have everyone scope you out. Plus, the party is already poppin’!

One piece of advice for your younger gay Latino self?
To my younger self: You didn’t have it bad growing up; You weren’t gay bashed, your Mom accepted you. You always wanted to prove that being gay didn’t always amount to being a handicap but you need to do it by being YOU. You tried to impress people with materialistic things and you sold yourself on what you had and not who you were. You thought because you had a good job, you were popular and maybe even the “it” boy for a moment, you were proving your point. Yet, that arrogance just made you unlikeable. People will admire you for using your voice to stand up for what’s right. People will admire you for being intelligent and well spoken. You have a charming personality and you can be sociable. Those are the qualities that prove being gay doesn’t always mean hardship.
