On Thursday May 24th at Interface the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and TransLatina Network to celebrated the launch of FLUX NYC. Flux chapters nationwide, powered by identity, are advancing the conversation, celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of the community. Guests were invited to channel their inner Marsha P. Johnson or Silvia Rivera, celebrating their individuality, rights, achievements, trans beauty and trans power.
Featuring celebrity host, model and trans-activist, Geena Rocero, the event will present Ali Belen the Visionary Service award, Lala Zannell, the Social Justice Warrior Award, and Bianey Garcia-D la O, the Community Pillar Award.
“We need to tell our own stories. We can create media content. We are capable, we are strong and we are valuable…. We will make it happen, we always have,” says Queen Victoria Ortega, Chair of FLUX.
