Black Girl Magic, an iconic concert-style set of performances that celebrate the legacy of queer black entertainers via narrative driven and extended performances. The event is a unique combination of performance art, celebration, and activism, and aims to uplift Black voices and stories, through drag, music, and art.
Show is Every Third Wednesday of the month at Roscoes Tavern in Chicago with a rotating cast of Chicago’s finest and Special Guests hosted by The Vixen.
BLACK GIRL MAGIC will be headed to NYC on Sept 8th at 3 Dollar Bill. This New York edition features an all-star lineup of stunning performers who will take your breath away. Queens from around the country descend on New York to express their heritage through song. BLACK GIRL MAGIC celebrates the unique and diverse facets of black drag queens.
The BLACK GIRL MAGIC mantra of “Black Girls Don’t Get To Be Basic” highlights the double standards and expectations that still remain in the industry. BLACK GIRL MAGIC was created to prove that all queens of color are not all the same. The result of combining queens who typically were reserved as lone showstoppers is an unmatched night of entertainment!
