This isn’t ya Gay uncles’ Queer as Folk, or his British ex-boyfriend’s QaF!
But the best way to get over someone is still under someone else.

This version of Queer as Folk is being described as “a vibrant reimagining of the groundbreaking British series created by Russell T. Davies in 1999. This series follows recent med school dropout Brodie (Devin Way) as he journeys to Louisiana in search of anything but a committed relationship, but finds his life and community drastically transform in the aftermath of a tragedy.

“I wanted to create a new groundbreaking version of this show for this moment. Our new Queer as Folk is set in New Orleans – one of the most unique queer communities in North America – and I am immensely proud that the new series is comprised of an electric ensemble of fresh characters that mirror the modern global audience,”  said creator and executive producer Stephen Dunn.

“I’m very proud of what we achieved in 1999, but in queer years, that was a millennium ago!” Davies said. “As a community, we’ve radicalized, explored, opened up and found new worlds — with new enemies and new allies — and there was so much to be said… I thought it was about time the title belonged to a whole new generation. The 2022 show is more diverse, more wild, more free, more angry — everything a queer show should be.”

The fresh new diverse cast includes Devin Way (Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19), Candace Grace (Acts of Crime), Fin Argus (Clouds, The Gifted), Jesse James Keitel (Big Sky), and Johnny Sibilly (Pose, Hacks).

Johnny reassured us QAF is “going to give” after TENz followers demanded ovah party scenes. “I’d say people can look forward to lot of queer shit! Ass! laughter! Tears & more  subtle references to the versions that paved the way but new stories that are carving out their own space”

Guest stars announced include Kim Cattrall, Benito Skinner, Nyle DiMarco, Megan Stalter and more.

Queer as Folk comes to Peacock on June 9th
