This year, almost every national and international title is being held by powerful beauties of color. These sensational individuals are an amazing representation of our community as a whole and we are so proud of their wins. Long live the queens!
What does having one of the most prestigious titles in our community mean to you?
Having the most prestigious title for trans women in the world means so much to me. Being able to represent us in a positive light and showing the world that we have brains, beauty, compassion, and talent. We deserve to be treated equal and given equal privilege and rights. I hope as Miss international Queen to be able to use my platform to let everyone just how important we are to the LGBTQIA and heterosexual community.
What is your biggest goal during your reign and why?
My biggest goal during my reign is to get people that are HIV-positive into treatment as well as those that are HIV negative on PReP. I definitely want the world to know more about PEP because it can truly save individuals from contracting HIV virus if they’re educated on what it is and where they can get it.
How has your win impacted you and the community?
My life has changed completely since I was crowned Miss International Queen. I have been contacted by people from around the world and it’s an amazing feeling. I also have gained the trust of my community and I’ve had several individuals come to me to get into treatment or to just get help in general and that means the world to me.
